When you plug something in, your brain reads it and turns it into topics. A line at the top of My brain tells you where it is, so you don’t have to guess.

Find it

Open My brain. While something is building, a card with the build line sits at the very top, above your brain card. When nothing is building, there is no card.

Use it

1

Read the line

The title says what your brain is doing: Reading your LinkedIn and X, Building your brain, or Adding to your brain. For a single source it says Adding your PDF, Adding your X posts, Adding your LinkedIn or Adding your website.
2

Check the time left

Under the title you’ll see about 1 min left, rounded up to whole minutes. While it’s still reading you’ll see a few minutes. If the estimate runs out first it says almost there. The bar under it keeps moving; it shows that work is happening, not a percentage.
3

Know when it's done

The title turns into Your brain is ready and a Close button appears. Tap it to dismiss the card. Your topics and Sources refresh on their own.

Look for the email

You don’t have to stay on the tab. When your first build finishes we send an email with the subject Your brain is ready | ASX. Open it to come straight back.

Good to know

  • A first build with LinkedIn or X takes a few minutes. Later adds, like one note or one PDF, are shorter, and they show as Adding to your brain, not Building your brain.
  • Under Your brain, a line like “1 new note is still being added to your brain.” means a note is waiting to be distilled into your topics.
  • On a phone the build card is the first thing on My brain.
